Travelling around in India and especially in Rajasthan you soon realise that colour is an integral part of their culture, and this is especially noticed in how exuberantly colourful the landscape and cities are with their painted buildings. These parts such as the beautifully colour-coordinated city of Jaipur in pinks, or Jodhupur in all shades of blue are a wonder to behold.
These towns and buildings are what sparked my imagination, as colour is one of the top reasons why I make art.
This linocut is one of my favourite prints, it has satiated my need to experiment in colour and as a result has been created in a variety of different colour combinations.
This recent version is in beautiful ochre yellow, teal and burnt sienna and is the only one in this colour scheme.
The print is created using the multi-block method. It is a limited edition of fifteen.
Please be aware that as this is a hand pressed print there are faint textural anomalies and light embossing, these signs prove that what you are acquiring is a handmade piece of artwork and not a digitally enhanced made copy.
