Original artwork description:

This fanciful female figuration dates to an earlier series of work that I did investigating personality genotypes through a sculptural expression based on their homeopathic remedies. I was so intrigued by this idea, that I published a Kindle book with commentaries, entitled “Gorgon of Clay: A Sculptural Exploration of the Homeopathic Genotypes”.
This figure, entitled Ignacia Amara explores a homeopathic remedy from the St Ignatius’ Bean and has the wiggly profile of the shape of a bean pod. The fragile, and unpredictable emotional personality, of this subject as expressed by her flirty and bossy female form. Her expression is deliberate like a flamenco dancer, whose nervous, temperamental and fluctuating moods, open references to a constellation of turbulent emotions. Her fancy dress is cross between medieval armament and a carefully trimmed poodle. Her costume serves as a devise of protectionism as well as an expression of flirtation, by the elongated tassels that hang from her peplum. Her long hair falls freely to her shoulders, like the mane of a lion. Her embellished ornamental arms set firmly on her wasp waist, suggesting stubbornness and defiance to authority. She personifies the trials of youth and the rites of Spring.
