Iceland landscape 2 (2025) Original Ink Drawing by Steve Potts
14 x 10cm (unframed) / 11.6 x 7.5cm (actual image size)
£150
Original artwork description
Iceland sits on the boundary of two tectonic plates that are slowly pulling apart, and the evidence is everywhere in the rock. The dominant stone is basalt, formed when lava cools and contracts inward under its own stress, cracking into the distinctive hexagonal columns you see throughout the island. This little drawing, based on our visit in the summer of 2025, tries to capture in ink the stunning drama of that angular structure. I really love this little drawing because so much is packed into a tiny frame.
Materials used:
ink, wash
Details:
- Ink drawing on Paper
- One of a kind artwork
- Size: 14 x 10cm (unframed) / 11.6 x 7.5cm (actual image size)
- Signed on the front
- Style: Expressive and gestural
- Subject: Landscapes, sea and sky
