£2,170.75
Original artwork description
Paintings like these are rarer than honest politicians (see my painting 'Oudezijds Voorburgwal') so they deserve attention. On the right hand side you will see a large cylindrical canalside advertisement for a brand of...er... ice cream. Possibly. Perhaps. Maybe. To exercise his flabby brain whilst painting this section of the picture the artist tried to figure out the brand name of the undoubtedly mouthwatering low temperature snack, and embraced the Googlemeister in this quest. Was it 'Adecco' ice cream? No - a huge Swiss human resources agency. 'Ecco' ice cream then? No - a Danish shoe manufacturer; a delicious looking series of salsa dips; an Italian restaurant in Belgium. Hummm. Holding a mirror up to the pic he realised it was not something 'ecco' but something 'acco'. Bivacco maybe? No - a high end Italian restaurant in Auckland (unlikely to be advertising in Amsterdam); a manufacturer of yellow Western Down jackets (using Tuscan recycled goose down. €895). The mystery thickens.
