In this diptych, I explored the contrasting yet intermingling themes of struggle and transcendence. Through the textured layers of acrylic, each stroke symbolizes the journey of a Icarus seemingly breaking free from the constraints of his flight. The left panel bathes in a warm hue suggesting emergence, while the right cools into quiet acceptance. This piece embodies resilience and the quiet power inherent in transformation.
This is an acrylic semi-abstract figurative painting on a textured stretched canvas. It is a diptych work and is part of a cycle about the myth of Icarus and recently was included in an exhibition held in 2018 titled "Directions Beyond... Myth And Modernity".
