Much of Sal's work uses film and cinematography as sources for subjects, focussing on the gestures of fictional characters, the figures have been taken from a scene, presented out of context and re-imagined as paintings; close-up, cropped and re-edited; her paintings capture the action of expression out of context and confound gender stereotypes.
The subject for this painting was inspired by Tania Mallet as the revenge-seeking Tilly Masterson in Goldfinger (The film from1964, was the third in the Bond series).
This painting is shipped stretched and ready to hang with fixtures on the back of the stretcher. It is signed on the back of the canvas. (it is a deep edged canvas with painted edges)
