“I let the moment stay as it was” (2026) Original Oil Painting by Alena Panchishin

This original oil painting captures the subtle movement of water through layers of turquoise, deep blue and green. Soft horizontal reflections contrast with darker areas beneath the surface, creating the impression of looking simultaneously at the water and into it.

Rather than depicting a specific place, the painting focuses on the sensation of being close to water — the changing light, the transparency, and the quiet movement that continues beneath an apparently still surface.

The work is part of my exploration of water as a metaphor for inner states and emotional depth. Its calm palette and flowing forms are intended to create a contemplative atmosphere and invite the viewer to pause.
