I wanted to convey that particular state of nature at autumn's peak - late October, when everything exists in a heightened, almost fevered unity. There's a powerful energy in the landscape, as if all the elements are caught up in the same urgent impulse. This is the threshold moment, just before the leaves surrender and fall and the more somber days of late autumn arrive. Saturated ochres capture that feeling when everything seems to glow from within, knowing it cannot last.
