I applied bold, sweeping strokes to the canvas, attempting to tame this melting southern afternoon. Hot Summer in Bordeaux was literally spilling from under my brush in an avalanche of pure ochre and ultramarine. I painted the silhouettes of old rooftops and streetlamps, which trembled in the sultry haze like a mirage. I turned the enormous, scorching sun into a blazing disc that occupied nearly half of my sky. Further down, I blended textures, capturing fragments of "BAR" signs and the chaotic contours of passersby from the crowd. I wanted to convey not just the geometry of the city, but the very feeling of a sultry, intoxicating celebration. Every palette knife stroke and every line here is my admiration for the vibrant, pulsating energy of the streets. I have finished the work, but I can still feel the tangible warmth of the French summer radiating from this canvas.
