On a recent autumn day when there were still some leaves on the trees ,the dog and I went for a walk through the Aspen plantation. Most of the leaves had dropped but there were still a few bright yellow leaves low down on one tree fluttering in the breeze. The day was quite dark the sky was deep blue grey making the yellow leaves look very intense. It gave me the idea for this painting reflecting the tenacity of the last remaining leaves holding fast as long as possible. Demonstrating how determined the natural world can be. Painted on a burnt sienna ground, framed in a plain frame hand painted in farrow and Ball’s Downpipe. Signed titled and dated on the reverse. Shipped with a track and trace identity carefully packed in mostly recycled materials.
