Living in the English Lake District the hills, fells and various and varied scenes I am surrounded by here have influenced my work since I first started painting the landscape.
This painting is from what is quite a large series of paintings produced from a days walk over Hartsop Dodd near Brothers Water. A beautiful clear blue sky is evident from the warm Easter weather throughout this series - as well as strong light and shadows - creating a contrast which I love to capture.
This is one of two large paintings from this series and is complete with a beautifully handmade lime-washed frame - which leads the eye right into the work. Signed by me on the front and reverse this painting is ready to hang.
