Artwork description:

Ochre and Grey Impressionistic artwork.

Recently published in Capitel Magazine (Universidad Humanitas in Mexico) as representing the Pantone Colours of the Year 2021, Ultimate Gray + Illuminating. “We believe this vibrant artwork captures the essence of the enriching contrasts between nature and urban life and modernity and tradition with such a fresh approach.”

Hoy is one of the larger islands of the Orkney archipelago, an island that is famous for its wild hills. On a small road past a series of small crofts (farms) you can travel for miles looking at the Hills of North Hoy. Their dark outlines contrast against fields of yellow grasses and blue skies.

Created using advanced photography techniques, I move the camera when I take the images. I work to bring out the colours that intensify the emotional connection I made when viewing the scene.

Each print is handmade in my studio and the 20 x 20 inches image has a generous white border. The full size of the print is 24 x 24 inches. The print will be signed, titled and numbered beneath the image.

Materials used:

Exquisite Handmade Fine Art Giclée Print on Canson Aquarelle Paper with Non-fade Inks
