Artwork description:

Light, water, sky and sand. Blue, green, mauve and silver. The colours of the Isle of Harris as the tide rolls out. Here is a place to stop and breathe deeply as the crystal clear air and sound of the sea cleanse and refresh the soul.

This is a single image made in the camera using subtle movements as I take the picture. As I make these abstract landscapes I have an idea of how the image should look but each time the results are exciting and new. In my Hebridean Collection, I am drawn to the fabulous aqua colour of the water around the Isle of Harris and I love to bring out this fresh, calming atmosphere in my picture.

Available in other sizes and on paper.
Image size 48 x 48 inches with a small white border for handling.

About My Work
I believe in giving my clients beautiful artwork on luxury papers that hold their colours for a lifetime! For these special prints of my work I use dreamy, smooth Canson Rag Photographique and the highest quality inks. I do all my own printing, having spent years learning this skill I prefer to maintain control of the colour representation at all stages to ensure you get a truly handmade image.

About My Materials
People often say that my images look like paintings because of the richness of the colours, the depth of the black and the texture of the materials I use. Canson are one of the oldest paper manufacturers in the world, they have been making paper for over 450 years in France. Founded in 1557 and printers to Louis XVI, their paper was used by Voltaire and Napoleon and the Montgolfier brothers used Canson paper to make the first hot air balloon. Canson paper was used by Picasso, Ingres, Chagal, Miro and many other artists. They have been making paper and canvas for photography since this art began over 150 years ago. Canson are Eco Friendly - they purchase paper pulp only from forests managed in a sustainable way which also makes them pretty special.
