I have been looking back at photos of my garden. Its all too easy to forget (especially on a cold November day) just how much joy it brings to me during the Summer months when everything is bursting into life.
This is a very large canvas (1m x 1m). The painting is an impressionistic and gestural response to the look and more importantly, to the feel of my garden borders in Summer.
Roses and Euphorbia, Verbena and Foxgloves, Poppies and Delphiniums (although not many of those as the slugs got involved!). I love the zingy greens of early Summer against a haze of buds and shoots. The painting is textured (incorporating a Gesso base layer) with bold brushstrokes using acrylic to build a colourful painting with depth and interest.
It will work with many colour schemes as there are so many colours within the painting. It is ready to hang.
