I was inspired by the hawk’s gaze — direct, fearless, and incredibly focused. It’s a symbol of independence and sharp instinct, qualities I aimed to highlight through the bird’s intense eye and turned head.
Painted with professional-grade watercolors on cold-pressed cotton paper. I worked in layers, preserving the freshness of the light areas and using granulating pigments to mimic feather patterns. Some spontaneous textures appeared where the pigment and water interacted freely — they give life to the background and add rhythm.
