This raptor appears both calm and alert, its eyes full of depth and meaning. A quiet but strong presence on paper.

Inspired by the bird’s balanced posture and focused look, I chose a composition that emphasizes both its character and elegance. The red-tailed buzzard is often overlooked, but to me it holds great visual power.

Working in layered washes, I built soft transitions between siennas, warm grays, and muted reds. The textured background emerged naturally during the drying process, creating a feeling of air and light.
