Late summer when the fields have been harvested is one of my favourite times to find new inspiration in the colour combinations presented to me. On this occasion it was the orange and ochre colours of the stubble fields set against the pale green distant fields. This was painted on location and the paint is applied thickly with expressive and gestural brushstrokes.
