A bright colourful landscape in blue and gold. A minimalist style landscape depicting the warm, golden tones of harvest time on the Island of Orkney, in the far north of Scotland.
Orkney is a place of water and smooth rolling hills, of peace and calm and gentle light. The colours here are muted and sunlight rests gently on the hills. Nothing sharp, nothing jarring to the senses. Here you can bathe in peace and calm.
This image was made in an unremarkable place, not named or special. The beautiful colour contrast caught my eye and made me stop to try to capture it. In long lost times these beautiful places would have had no road for passers by; the beauty of this scene has remained unchanged for thousands of years. The gentle dip of light blue water and distant fields of golden grass seem constant and everlasting.
Limited Edition
Edition of 15 at 56 x 56 inches with additional 2 inches of white border. Title, edition and artist signature under the image in the border. If you prefer, the signature and numbering can be on the image if you want to take the image to the edge of your frame.
Printed on exquisite fine art paper with a smooth texture.

Canson have been making paper for over 450 years and their paper was used by Picasso, Ingres, Miro and Warhol to name but a few. The inks I use are state-of-the-art non fade Epson Ultrachrome K3 with Vivid Magenta.
I am very particular about printing. Unlike many artists, I print all my own work so that I remain in control of the art from concept to delivery. If you have any questions please get in touch for a chat.
