One of my favourite walks of all time. Through the Muker meadows along the banks of the river Swale. Up to Crackpot Hall and back down on the other side, passing the infamous Hartlakes Hall ruins. (otherwise known as Boggle House ??)
Rumour has it that this is a haunted building following a fire and the death of a child in the building. Non the less it is a beautiful location and the scattering of stone barns and the ruins of the house make for a very atmospheric landscape.
I walked right up to the house - a few sheep sheltering from the Summer sunshine made me jump as I peered into the darkness of the ruins. I darn't go inside!
The paths all around were strewn with buttercups and grasses as the Swale skipped along through boulder and bend.
The painting is impressionistic with bold brush strokes and has a semi abstract feel. The colours are warm and fresh and the path leads the viewer into the scene - drawing you closer to the ruin and it's sinister history.
The artwork is supplied rolled in a tube and I will ship it anywhere for free.
