Hares under the moon (2014) Original Painting by Fiona Plaisted

I liked the idea of two hares meeting under the light of the moon. I hope I've captured some of the magic that surrounds these beautiful creatures. I've layered the starry night sky and the field with a range of blues, silver and white.

I start the canvas with a rough pencil sketch and then I add the coloured paper before building up the layers with acrylic paint. The last thing I add are the embellishments of thread, beads, buttons and glitter to pick out or highlight certain areas.
