With this painting, I wanted to capture the quiet beauty and gentle energy of a harbor awakening beneath the morning sky. The moored fishing boats, soaring seagulls, and the distant bridge create a sense of openness and calm. My intention was to celebrate the magical moment when sunlight breaks through the clouds, transforming an ordinary harbor into a place filled with hope, freedom, and quiet poetry.
I used expressive, painterly brushstrokes to suggest the movement of the sky and water while balancing cool and warm tones to emphasize the changing morning light. Layers of thick and thin paint, together with selective highlights and broken color, create shimmering reflections and a moist atmospheric quality. Softer edges in the distance enhance depth, while stronger contrasts in the foreground draw attention to the boats, producing an impressionistic sense of light, space, and tranquility.
