Original artwork description:

The painting in the interior "Hagia Sophia at Night" was drawn from life during my cycling plein air tour of Turkey in the winter of 2021.

Seeing Hagia Sophia and the ancient city of Constantinople (Istanbul) was an old dream for me. I painted Hagia Sophia from life twice, day and night.

At night, the cathedral, illuminated by many lanterns, as it often looks quite differently, there is a certain mystery and enigma. When I was drawing, many people came up to me, including the police and security guards, to see what I was drawing.

While I was painting, it started to rain several times and I was hiding under the branches of a large tree, but still it turned out to finish this work from nature to the end.

The work was painted by professional watercolors Maimeri Blu on 100% cotton watercolor paper 300 g/m2, which guarantees the durability of the preservation of the work under proper storage conditions, decorated under glass.

Also on my page you can see other original paintings painted from life during my plein air travels in Italy, India, Georgia, Ukraine, Russia, Turkey. And also see my paintings with flowers and still lifes painted from nature.

All the funds raised from the sale of my paintings are used to make my dream of a mobile workshop based on a minibus come true. Now I travel the world on a bicycle, it is very exciting, but for greater productivity I need a minibus in which I will live, travel and paint.
