Artwork description
I have a bit of an obsession with guinea hens, so fun and such great pets in all their sillyness.
A collagraph, means that I have on a piece of cardboard, made cuts, removed the first layer of cardboard to create mid tones, cut a bit deeper and removed more of the layers to get the really dark blacks, where I want light colors, I have added lacquer so I can clean that area really well, all this is time consuming. When I have done my cutting, the plate needs to be shellaced to protect it. Because of the fragility of the cardboard plate, I get very few prints, in my mind that makes it more fun for me, it is a very creative way of making prints and you will see more of them in the future.
I have printed 16 prints, and that is it, they all come with small difference one to the other, I hope you will treasure this as part of the handmade process.
Please note you might not receive the number in the photo.
I have signed, titled and numbered each print.
The beautiful warm white paper measures 20" x 16" (50 cm x 40 cm )
and the actual printed area measures 15" x 7" (38 cm x 27 cm )
The print is striking and can frame large if you wish to make a statement piece.
I ship from Denmark, with DDP to the US, with many years experience in packing my art so it arrives safely, see my many happy reviews.
Thank you for looking, Welcome back, Mariann
