Guiding Light (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by CAROLINE GREEN

50.8 x 66.04 x 5.08cm (framed) / 45.72 x 60.96cm (actual image size)

£2,617.47

This piece was created in response to the turmoil and uncertainty shaping our country. A time when everything felt dim, unstable, and heavy. In the middle of that darkness, I kept returning to the idea that we each carry our own guiding light, something internal and unwavering that helps us move through difficult moments even when the world around us feels overwhelming.

The raven in this painting holds that light gently but firmly, carrying a lantern that glows against the cool tones of the night. Twisting vines and deep blue roses wrap around it, symbolizing the challenges and fears that can entangle us, yet the flame still burns through. The forest and moon behind the raven create a sense of vastness and quiet, reminding us that even in the darkest landscapes, illumination is possible.

This artwork is meant to be a reminder of inner resilience that when things seem uncertain or frightening, we are not powerless. We are our own source of direction, clarity, and courage. The light we carry may be small, but it is enough to guide us forward.
