GoldFish
Oil painting on Hardy Plank.
I like to paint on found materials sometimes. This is one of those paintings. A bright, colorful fish, thickly painted on reclaimed Hardy Plank. It's a cement board used for building siding. VERY solid. Probably last forever. It is mould made, formed with a heavy "wood grain" surface that I think looks like water more than wood. So I took advantage of the surface to give the painting a feeling of water.
The goldfish is actually a bright red-orange like a real goldfish. Expressive, thick paint gives this painting a very lively surface.
Initialed on the front.
I've included a shot of the back, which can be wired to hang before I ship.
Cheers
