Golden Structure of Still Light (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Tatiana Malinovscaia

I created this large abstract painting as a study of structure, light, and layered stillness — an interplay between geometric composition and atmospheric texture.

Working with acrylic and gold paint on canvas, I developed the surface through layered applications using palette knife and expressive brushwork. Shades of beige, warm taupe, soft grey, ivory, black, and metallic gold create contrast, depth, and luminosity across the composition.

The painting is built around intersecting vertical and horizontal forms that create a strong architectural rhythm while remaining fluid and atmospheric. Textured layers, scraped passages, expressive marks, and subtle tonal transitions allow the surface to shift depending on the surrounding light.

I wanted this work to feel elegant yet grounded — a composition where structure becomes calm visual energy. The gold accents catch natural and artificial light beautifully, adding warmth and depth without overpowering the restrained neutral palette.
