It's magical being out in the dark. I sometimes get my best ideas then.
This seaside painting was inspired by a late evening walk when the moon was high in the sky above the harbour and lights shone enticingly from hotel windows. You could hear people talking, snatches of conversation.
The moon was reflected in the sea and the shadows were an inky blue.

I painted this with a generous amount of oil paint using expressive brush strokes on a fine weave canvas.
It is protected by a layer of varnish.
It measures 30 x 30 x 1.75 cm (12 x 12 x 0.75 inches) unframed.
Certificate of authenticity included.
