Artwork description:

Golden Hour is a nod to the glorious dappled light and dancing shadows cast from the most amazing summer evening sky putting on an incredible show of golden light. My garden has cast mesmerising shadows that just called to be printed.

Golden Hour takes a small side-step away from my characteristic botanical prints. I wanted to capture a glimpse into the subtle theatrical show between the last window of golden light, to the magical moment when the landscape around us slowly dissolves into a silhouette under the night sky.

Your linocut print is made in the reduction technique. This is a method of block printing where each colour layer is taken from the same block, carving each layer and printing the next colour on top of the last. There are four layers of muted colours to compliment the essence of last light. Each layer of colour is mixed using a hint of the previous colour and all from a Payne’s Grey mixed base.

Golden Hour is lovingly carved on Battleship grey lino, printed with oil based printmaking ink, using an etching press. To reflect the soft edges of the dappled light, I chose to print on Fabriano paper and utilise its absorbent qualities. Intentional choices are made when selecting the block and paper to print on; each to compliment form and landscape.

Signed and numbered edition of 29.

Your original print will arrive unframed, wrapped in acid free tissue and protected in sturdy packaging during transit.

Paper size: 14.8 (h) x 10.5 (w) cm
Print size: 10 (h) x 7 (w) cm

Please note, due to the handprinted nature, each print is unique and there will be slight variations within each edition.
