Golden Frameworks is an original large-scale abstract diptych from my Golden Horizons series, created in 2026. Composed of two individual acrylic paintings, each measuring 140 × 100 cm, this one-of-a-kind artwork explores the relationship between structure, light, texture, and the subtle transformation of neutral tones.
While creating this diptych, I was interested in how two very different visual languages could become part of the same story. One canvas is more atmospheric and open, built around vertical and horizontal movement, while the second introduces stronger geometric forms and architectural fragments. Placed together, they create a dialogue between freedom and structure, softness and precision.
I developed both paintings through multiple layers of professional acrylic paint, gradually building and partially removing areas of colour. Palette knives, brushes, scraping techniques, textured applications, glazing, and expressive mark-making allowed earlier layers to remain visible beneath the surface. This process gives the paintings a sense of history and creates rich tactile depth that changes subtly with the surrounding light.
The palette combines warm beige, taupe, greige, stone grey, ivory white, charcoal black, deep brown, and metallic gold. The gold elements are integrated throughout the compositions rather than used simply as decoration. Depending on the direction and intensity of light, they shift from restrained earthy tones to luminous highlights, adding warmth and dimension to the neutral surfaces.
Although entirely abstract, Golden Frameworks can evoke fragments of contemporary architecture, weathered walls, stone surfaces, reflections, structural plans, and changing light across an urban landscape. I intentionally leave these associations open, allowing the viewer to discover an individual interpretation within the layers and geometric forms.
The two paintings were conceived to create a strong visual relationship while retaining their own individual character. Together, their generous scale creates an impressive architectural presence, making the diptych particularly suitable for spacious contemporary interiors.
Golden Frameworks is designed as a statement artwork for large living rooms, dining areas, entrance halls, executive offices, luxury residences, boutique hotels, reception spaces, and contemporary commercial interiors. Its sophisticated neutral palette works especially well with Minimalist, Japandi, Organic Modern, Wabi-Sabi, Modern Classic, Industrial, and Contemporary Luxury interiors.
For me, Golden Frameworks is about the structures we perceive beneath a surface—the invisible order that gradually appears through layers of time, material, and light.
The artwork is signed, dated and titled on the reverse and ships in a tube. This method is particularly safe for oversized works and ensures lower transport costs. Rolled works may be easily stretched upon arrival (placed on wooden stretchers for canvases) and/or framed by a local framer.
