Golden Autumn 2 (2025) Original Oil Painting by Irina Smirnova-Seymour

“Golden Autumn” is a landscape painting inspired by my impressions of the park in Dawlish, Devon. Golden foliage intertwines with shades of pink, violet and green, while reflections in the water dissolve familiar forms. Free expressive brushwork, rich colour, and elements of contemporary impressionism transform the real landscape into an almost abstract composition, filled with light and movement.

I wanted to preserve not an exact view of the park, but my own impression of this place — the warmth of autumn, the clarity of the air, and the beauty of nature at a moment of transformation. Through oil painting, layered colour, and expressive texture, I sought to convey a feeling in which nature, light, water and reflections merge into one living flow.
