Original artwork description:

We’re surrounded by different degrees of manifestations of God’s glory: the miracle of a baby’s smile; the beauty of nature and the magnificence of the cosmos; the transcendence of a symphony; and the wonders of humanity since we are image bearers of God--to name but a few. Because God wants us to know Him, He reveals Himself in the micro and the macro, yet His glory exceeds the limitations of our finite human capacity to grasp it. Abstraction, therefore, allows me to evoke the joy, awe and celebration that we feel as we try—in our humble way—to imagine what neither words nor images can possibly suggest. Scripture passages from the Old and New Testaments—the Book of Exodus, as well the Book of Acts--are embedded in this painting, since God revealed His glory when He saved the Israelites from slavery in Egypt, which was a precursor to the eternally glorious, saving mission of Jesus, who frees all believers from the slavery of sin and death. This painting uplifts your mind, heart and soul above the cares of this present moment to God’s transcendent glory. Hanging hardware is already installed, and the painting has been given a satin varnish for protection.

Materials used:

Scripture excerpts, acrylic paint, oil paint, cold wax on canvas
