Original artwork description
An elderly woman approached me with a commission. She wanted to paint her portrait. A portrait of herself at 18 years old, based on a black-and-white photo of herself as a wide-eyed, young woman. She told me she had lived her life not the way she wanted, but the way her parents wanted, and she deeply regretted it. She, an old woman, wanted to hang a painting of a girl who still had a dream on her wall. This story inspired me to create works in which I imagine what the girl looked like and what she became as an adult. (In this work, the character is the artist's imagination.)
