Fuchsia Petal Dance is one of those paintings that just makes me smile every time I look at it. I built it up in layers of fuchsia, lilac, soft cream, and deep plum, letting the flowers almost sway across the canvas as if they were caught in their own gentle dance. I wanted it to feel like standing in a meadow when the petals start to flutter and the whole scene feels alive with movement. There are textured brushstrokes you can really see and feel, and I added touches of iridescent gold that shimmer as the light changes through the day — it gives the piece this magical quality, almost as if it’s glowing. For me, it’s about capturing joy and that sense of wonder you get in nature. I imagine this painting bringing warmth and energy into someone’s home, a daily reminder of beauty and color that feels uplifting and alive.
