Fruits of shadow
In a mauve chalice-shaped vase, heavy foliage rises and folds back on itself. Bright pink fruits hang from slender stems, as though they belonged to an unknown species. Muted greens, drifting blacks and ink marks give this imagined plant a presence both delicate and unsettling. Around it, the background grows hazy and gradually darkens, its granular texture enveloping the foot of the vase. Somewhere between a still life and a botanical curiosity, the work invites a closer look: veins, stains and unexpected shifts of colour emerge, as if this strange vegetation were still growing before our eyes.
