"Friend of Mine" is a cactus. It's a plant. But it is more than a plant. It represents a state of mind - the metaphor for what friendship and friends stand for: being there, no matter what.
This painting has been waiting for me to complete it for about 3 years. I was looking at it and it was calling me. And I kept saying: "Maybe later, my friend". Until one morning when I felt the urge to just sit down and finish this majestic cactus. One morning, my friend just called and I answered. Like an oasis in the desert, the true friend will always be there, no matter what. Waiting and giving an unconditional mirror to you - showing you the right path.
This cherished cactus, with its psychedelic colors, will now be your friend, to guide you through the desert. Just as it guided me.
