This painting came together in layers that just kept building, like nothing wanted to be held back. Pink, violet and soft lilac move through bursts of warm yellow, creating a field of flowers that feels full, bright and completely alive. I used dripped and thrown paint alongside more intentional marks, letting the colour lead and allowing the composition to grow naturally across the canvas.
For me, this piece is about that moment when everything arrives at once. The height of summer, when colour is at its richest and the landscape feels almost overflowing. There’s no restraint here, just energy, warmth and that sense of abundance you can feel as much as you see.
The white background lifts everything, giving the colours space to breathe while making them feel even more vivid and immediate.
It’s a joyful, expressive piece designed to bring light, colour and a sense of fullness into a space.
Created on two canvas panels which can be hung side by side or spaced, each panel measures 120 x 90 x 3 cm giving a total artwork size of 180 x 120 x 3 cm

Materials used:

Oil and acrylic on canvas
