Fox de Batère (2026)Acrylic painting by Julian Wheat

I was very fortunate to see this fox from afar on a hike in the snow on a high plateau in the Pyrénées last year. The contrast of the colour of the fox against the snow caught my eye. He/She quickly scampered off when I came in to view on a ridge. The fox was too far away to take a good photo,so I took a photo of where it had been against the wall, and composed this scene for a painting.
This is now the seventh of my series of local wildlife.
