FOUR BUOYS AT SUNSET (STUDIO 3)
I made this photograph on the Tuscan coast, in the Maremma, during a summer evening when the sea felt almost silent. I was drawn to the stillness of the horizon and to the quiet presence of the four buoys, which seemed to float between land, water, and sky. Their small dark forms create a restrained balance within the frame, giving the image a sense of order and distance. The long exposure softened the surface of the sea and stretched the movement of the clouds, turning the scene into something calm and suspended.
I worked with a muted palette of soft sand, pearly grey, warm beige, and pale green-blue tones, with just a touch of darker contrast to hold the composition together. The atmosphere is gentle and minimal, with a bleached, almost meditative quality that reflects how I felt in that moment: quiet, attentive, and deeply connected to the coastal light.
