Original artwork description:

This painting is part of the "Faces" series, created under the influence of the war in Ukrainian that reshaped countless lives. It portrays a real Ukrainian soldier, who once worked as a fashion model – a man who once walked the runway, surrounded by beauty and light. The war changed everything. Now, from the fragments of his former self, a new person is being born.

The composition captures this transformation: one face fades into the background, while another emerges – symbolizing the inner reconstruction of identity, loss, and renewal. Through layered oil and acrylic on canvas, the artist conveys the fragile line between who we were and who we become after witnessing the unimaginable. The artist asks a haunting question: can a person survive within this new self? Can he live with it – or in it?

Executed in oil and acrylic on canvas, the work combines texture, emotion, and symbolism to explore the fragile border between who we were and who we become after trauma.

The painting measures 119.9 × 180.1 × 2.5 cm (47.2 × 70.9 × 1 in) and bears the artist’s signature on the front.
Unique. One-of-a-kind.
