Forget Me Not (2022) Original Acrylic Painting by Phyllis Mahon

Blue, White, with a touch of Burnt Sienna over Gold - this painting shows a woman’s face enclosed in her swirling hair.

The colours were inspired by the Forget-me-nots blooming just beside my garden table, where I like to work when the weather is fine. See one of the photographs of these flowers beside the frame, another shows the subtle shine of the gold flakes under electric light.

Occasionally I use 'Imitation Gold Leaf' in my artworks; here at the top left I've used gold flakes and then covered them with a layer of transparent Burnt Sienna to give a warm glow.

Drawn in graphite and loosely painted in artist quality acrylics on canvas board (8 x 8"). Painted mid April 2022.

Presented framed, floated, in a professionally made tulipwood tray-frame; ready to hang.
