Original artwork description:

This statement piece is inspired by my local woodland. This year, I've noticed how vibrant green the moss on the trees is. Even in winter, the woodland takes on a bright green hue, which is so beautiful and magical. I've worked on the first layer in acrylics, including a gold green. Then, I've worked over a number of days with layers of oil paint to create the textures and colours of the woodland. The edges are painted with Payne's grey, and this painting is ready to hang.

Materials used:

acrylics, charcoal and oil
