Forest Singing is inspired by the enchanting woodland close to my home, where rich amber and golden light filters through the trees and illuminates the forest floor. Warm hues glow among the leaves, while shafts of light in the distance draw the eye deeper into the landscape, creating a sense of mystery, atmosphere and quiet wonder. The interplay of light and shadow forms beautiful abstract patterns that constantly change throughout the day. This golden season is, for me, the most magical time in the woods and an endless source of inspiration for painting.
This original, one-of-a-kind artwork has been created using high-quality acrylic paints on a deep-edged canvas. My process begins with observing the landscape directly, making notes and taking photographs to develop ideas in the studio. Initial layers are applied with brushes before building rich textures through impasto techniques, layering paint with a palette knife to create depth, movement and luminosity. The result is a contemporary painting that balances between abstraction and realism. The image continues around the edges of the canvas, so framing is not required, and the painting is ready to hang.
