White Peony was inspired by the gift of a beautiful white peony — a flower whose delicacy and subtle colours immediately caught my attention. Its petals, seemingly white at first glance, reveal soft shades of blush pink, lavender and pearl, changing gently with the light.

Created in a mixed technique of watercolor and soft pastel, the painting combines the transparency of watercolor with the velvety texture of pastel. Against the cool, muted background, the peony appears almost luminous, while subtle touches of colour within its petals bring depth and warmth to the composition.
