What happens when you continue works you started years ago? I was working on my stack of unfinished paintings, mainly smaller formats. On the one hand, I recognized myself clearly in the works I started years ago, but, on the other hand, the existing really influences current technique. This painting was started as part of a my "au contraire" series in 2018.

So the early stage I've been working on was 7 (!!!) years old. Combined with todays gestures and colorphase the result is a soft yet powerful painting. The light, pale pink combined with bold applied green reminds me of the first sprouts and buds in spring...
