Original artwork description
Painted from life, from an arrangement of farm market fresh autumn flowers. Features a large dahlia flower. It is called a "Firecracker Dahlia", and its petals are bright red with yellow and white tips. The arrangement is rounded out by sunflowers and zinnias in a mix of colors. The background is deep purple with touches of lavender and gold. The effect of very rich and striking. I painted this with both a brush and palette knife, and the flowers are enhanced by the texture of the paint. This piece will definitely give a boost of bold and lively energy to any space it graces.
Painted in a "gallery wrap" style. Painting wraps around the sides of the stretched canvas, and requires no frame.
