FINDING TRANQUILITY 2 oil on canvas 80 cm x 60 cm x 4 cm

I'd taken some images when walking on the downs in Sussex UK during the latest lockdown. The emotion and excitement of spring in the air, when everything begins again, all fresh and green. This year of course, there is also hope for the freedom from lockdown.
Green is a calming colour, also known to represent tranquillity, good luck, and good health.
The theory and history of colour fascinates me and engulfs my work. Simultaneous contrasts help each colour sing. I use wonderful colours, either mixed by hand or the intense pigments of quality paints such as Gamblin or Michael Harding. My painting speaks to me as I create, it takes the lead.

The canvas was continually rotated in process so may be hung in any orientation.
