Goldenrod has been used in traditional medicine to treat a variety of conditions, including inflammation, urinary tract issues, and tuberculosis. It's often used as a tea or dietary supplement. Goldenrod has been used to heal skin wounds. Native Americans used goldenrod leaves as a poultice for bee stings. The flowers can be used to create a warm yellow dye for cotton, wool, and silk fabrics.
Field Goldenrod tends to bloom later in the fall than most species of Goldenrod.
