Artwork description:

The bright sun is making interesting shadow patterns as it hits the metal fire escapes on the side of a building in San Francisco.

This reduction linocut was particularly challenging, so I focussed on getting a good result on each individual print rather than trying to get an identical edition. As such, each print in the edition is unique, some have more printed layers than others and the paper varies throughout the edition.

This is print number six of the varied edition of sixteen prints. Number six has five printed layers on Somerset Satin 250gsm paper. This work is printed with water-based, light-fast inks. It is numbered, titled and signed at the bottom, mounted in a neutral colour and wrapped in cellophane to keep it clean. The mounted work will fit in a 16x20inch frame.

A reduction linocut is a relief print formed with layers of colour that are cut and printed from the same block of lino. Each print is created by hand, so variations occur between them making each one truly original.

Materials used:

Printed on Somerset Satin with water-based light-fast inks. Mounted to fit into a 16 x 20 inch frame.
