This Summers unpredictable weather has seen nature at its most fecund, plants reacting aggressively under the stress by spurting and bolting in a frenzy of seed production. Humans have been recorded as reacting in a similar way, when threatened in situations such as pandemics and war, exuding a will to live life to the full, unwittingly following their biological impulses to propagate in order to survive. This painting started life as study of a view into some woods during early Spring, but evolved over the course of the Summer into a explosion of life:
