“Nice and Easy” (2022)Acrylic painting by Hanna Bell

This painting is inspired by the work of the fauvist painters. I first used 2 layers of gesso to create a textured surface to add interest to a painting which I intended to paint in simplified blocks of colour.

Then I decided to paint this figure as quickly as possible to give the painting a feeling of energy. This can be quite tricky as there is a tendency for the image to become ‘muddy’ if the brushes are not washed out properly or if you try to paint wet onto wet.

I balanced the colours by adding grey and taking care not to overwork the painting.

This painting is shipped in a reinforced envelope with a hand written certificate of authenticity. Overseas clients to note that shipping prices do not include import taxes which must be paid by the client on receipt of the artwork.
